How to Visit JODD FAIRS Ratchada – Bangkok’s Newest Night Market Near MRT

旅行・観光

JODD FAIRS Ratchada is a brand-new night market that opened in November 2024. Located just a short walk from the Thailand Cultural Centre Station (MRT Blue Line), it’s super easy to get to and very convenient for both locals and tourists.

Since it’s a newly opened market, it has a clean and modern vibe compared to the traditional tent-style markets. Each vendor stall is built like a small shop, giving it a neat and organized appearance. It’s definitely a refreshing take on the classic Thai night market.

In this article, I’ll show you how to get there and give you a peek at the kinds of food and shops you’ll find!

By the way, there used to be another JODD FAIRS night market near Phra Ram 9 Station, but that location is set to close by the end of 2024. From now on, Ratchada will be the main JODD FAIRS location.

How to Get to JODD FAIRS Ratchada

JODD FAIRS Ratchada is located near the Thailand Cultural Centre Station (MRT Blue Line). It’s about 10 minutes from Sukhumvit Station (where close to Terminal 21), making it super accessible.

Once you arrive at the station, take Exit 4.

When you get to street level via the escalator, turn left.

You’ll soon spot a Big C supermarket next door, and the night market is just in front of it.

Big C is a great place to pick up snacks and souvenirs, so definitely check it out while you’re there!

There’s also another market nearby called The One Ratchada, but it has lost a lot of its energy since JODD FAIRS opened. As of December 2024, more than half the shops there have already closed.

Unlike traditional night markets with tents, JODD FAIRS Ratchada features proper shop-like stalls and well-lit, clean walkways.

If you’re expecting an old style Southeast Asian night market, this one might feel a bit different—but in a good way. It’s clean, modern, and safe, making it a great option for travelers who want to enjoy street food without worrying about hygiene.

Here’s a look at some of the food and shops you’ll find (just a small sample!):

Durian-based desserts and Thai milk tea stalls.

For Thai tea, I recommend ChaTraMue, which you can find in many locations.

Twist potatoes, which were super popular a while ago.

ポテトツイストのお店

Classic Thai sweet crepes called Roti

My top pick is the Egg Banana Roti sold near the entrance!

Japanese street foods like Takoyaki and Yakisoba.

Marinated raw squid called SQUID SHOT, currently trending in Bangkok.

生のイカをタレにつけたもの

The adventurous dish Yum Khun Ten—a spicy salad made with live shrimp. I haven’t tried it myself (a little scared, to be honest!), but would love to hear your thoughts if you have!

ヤムクンテンのお店

There are plenty of seafood stalls.

海鮮料理

An insect food stand—a night market staple.

And fresh smoothies (interestingly, not many juice vendors).

There are many of these smoothie shops. On the other hand, there were very few juices, not smoothies.

Crocodile skewers—I tried grilled croc in Cambodia and loved it, but I skipped it here since it looked super spicy!

Freshly grilled steaks.

Shops offering a wide range of alcohol, mainly beers.

Final Thoughts

JODD FAIRS Ratchada, opened in November 2024, is one of the cleanest and most modern night markets in Bangkok. With its variety of food, vibrant atmosphere, and convenient location, it’s a top pick if you’re trying to decide which night market to visit.

It starts to get crowded around 7–8 PM, so I recommend arriving around 5 PM when most stalls are already open but the crowd hasn’t arrived yet.

A couple of tips before you go:

  • No outside food or drinks allowed, and there are security checks at the entrance.
  • Most vendors only accept cash, so be sure to exchange money beforehand.

Happy exploring—and bring your appetite!
